Background

Sumi is an international development practitioner with a commitment to social justice. Having studied law, over the course of her career, she has served as a research assistant on Chinese Economic and Company law, a human rights officer to the Malaysian Bar Council, a senior legal adviser to the Hong Kong Democratic Party's secretariat for legislative councillors, Oxfam GB's private sector advocacy head, programme lead on the 'Public Roles of the Private Sector' at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, and is now part of Forum for the Future's APAC team based in Singapore. Sumi's interest is in applying systems change practices within the social justice movement, particularly in relation to securing business respect for human rights.

At the School of System Change

In her role at Forum, Sumi supports the team in identifying opportunities for the School to contribute towards building the field of systems change in the APAC region. She loves having the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals committed to collectively shaping a better future for humanity through a shared philosophy and practice.
